1He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 2I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”3Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. 4He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. 5You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, 6nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. 7A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. 8You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. 9If you make the Most High your dwelling– even the LORD, who is my refuge–10then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. 11For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; 12they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. 13You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. 14″Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. 15He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. 16With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
I’ve never been one to pray the 91st Psalm over my life for protection, but my mom does. I DO pray for protection tho, and let me tell you how God protected me in a big way one snowy night. In January 2015 I drove to Kentucky for the weekend to visit a couple of friends. I left early Saturday morning and came back Sunday night. I left Kentucky around 2:30 in the afternoon. When I left it was raining. I was told back home in Ohio it was snowing but not sticking to the ground or roads. I was driving north on Interstate 71 and just north of Columbus the roads started to become snowy. I of course slowed down. I got to the Rt. 30 exit and and as I was attempting to exit the Interstate my car started to slide sideways. I figured the worst thing that was going to happen was I would hit the exit sign. But just then my car spun around and across 3 lanes of traffic. I remember a truck blowing his horn at me as if I had any control as to where my car was going. I came to a stop on the opposite side of the road facing South. So now I’m on the berm of the road facing South in the northbound lanes of the Interstate. I have no idea what to do, I’m so scared. I call my brother in law to come get me and then I call my mom and tell her I didn’t make it home. A snow plow comes along and asks me if I’m stuck or if I just spun out. I tell him I spun out. He tells me to see if I have traction-I do, so he tells me to do a U-turn onto my exit. I tell him I don’t want to go anywhere and someone is coming to get me. Which I know sounds pretty crazy now. Lol. I do what he says and eventually make it home with myself and my car all in one piece.
I know it was God that protected me that night because there is no other way the truck that was blowing his horn at me as I was sliding across 3 lanes of traffic didn’t hit me.
I whole heartedly agree, God was in control and had you in His hands that night. He has more for you to accomplish here on earth. Hold fast to His presence.
Thank you!
